Vasanth Sarathy
Vasanth Sarathy is a Principal Research Scientist at Leidos working on the internal machinery of AI systems, i.e., the representations, memory structures, and reasoning processes that give advanced models a stable understanding and make them reliable partners to human decision-makers.
He focuses on the core problems that limit today’s AI in mission-critical settings: brittle assumptions, shallow representations, opaque reasoning, and a lack of persistent, inspectable memory. His work explores structured meaning representations, belief and assumption tracking, neurosymbolic memory, and interpretable decision pipelines so that AI systems can maintain coherent internal state, reason about people and goals, and explain why they did what they did.
